I would like to nominate Maria as our DAISY Nurse from the Psych ER. Maria is a sensitive and caring person who also has strong nursing skills, holds several certifications and a BSN. Maria works hard and consistently and always has the best interest of the patient first and foremost. In her over 20 years in the PES she has treated thousands of patients. Because she lives in this community she is very tuned in to the struggles facing families and is especially effective with frightened teenage girls and their mothers. Her command of the English/Spanish language is also a valuable asset for the patients and staff. Maria deserves the recognition of this award in our humble opinion.
