Maria is a patient care coordinator on a busy Med-Surg floor. Her primary role is to perform patient teaching according to their diagnosis; however, one will often find Maria helping patients with daily tasks. She commits her work to the patient's needs and assists without any delay or complaints. Maria also goes the extra mile in providing exceptional customer service. When a patient's birthday occurs during hospitalization, Maria sings the "Happy Birthday" song and provides a small gift to the patient. The patients really appreciate her acts of caring. She is also our units PIC representative and coordinates many unit and hospital celebrations.
