Maria demonstrates a commitment to clinical excellence in her interactions with patients and families. She assists with Spanish translation for physicians, families and patients to promote clear clinical expectations and supportive interactions.
Maria maintains a collegial relationship with the physicians in this service line and is viewed as a "go to" person on the unit for questions related to practice. Maria supports her fellow nurses and our patients by picking up additional shifts on nights when needed. She has served as a Table Host for the Humankindness retreats, sharing her passion and commitment to the community that we serve. She embraces the patient experience principles of Know me as a person, Communicate with me, Empower me, Comfort me, Keep me safe, and Work together as a team. Maria receives patient compliments on a regular basis, serving as an excellent labor coach and clinician. Maria teaches the ACLS and NRP courses for the OB department, supporting the educational needs of her peers.
