I had surgery earlier in the week and was bleeding and in a lot of pain.  Once I got to the hospital I got an IV, but the pain medicine wasn't working. A day or two after my surgery, in the morning hours, Maria noticed my IV wasn't working properly.  It looked to be inserted incorrectly when she was flushing it. She had the charge nurse come in and do another IV on me just to be sure I wouldn't be put through more pain. Once my new IV was in my medicine started to work.
Maria not only is one of the kindest, warmest nurses I've ever had, but she also took the time and really took care of me the way everyone deserves to be treated. She deserves to be recognized for the hard work and care she gives to people.
Maria is an amazing example of someone who was born to do this job.
