Mariah is devoted, compassionate, caring, extremely knowledgeable, and an angel to us.
My mother is 82 years old. She was on her way to Denver, Colorado from Mesa, AZ for Christmas with some family when they stopped in Albuquerque, NM for a night's stay. Early that night, she had a brain bleed. She was rushed to UNM hospital where they lowered her blood pressure, released pressure on the brain with a tube, and intubated her.
At this point, my mother has been in the neuro ICU for over 2 weeks. We had several nurses but the one nurse that stuck out was Mariah. We have had her four days out of 14 days and she has gone way above her normal call of duty. She informed us every day of my mother’s status and answered all of our questions. She took care of my mother, just as if it was her own mother. She was so kind and polite to all of us. She treated us as if we were family to her. Every day that we went to the hospital we just saw all of her skill sets, and it was so amazing. The hospital was short staffed and she had sometimes two patients and she would make sure that both patients were also taken care of. I believe she is such an outstanding nurse and deserves one heck of a lot of respect.
My mom has had many ups and downs and some very difficult days. Mariah was very good at taking care of the situation and then taking the time to explain with amazing knowledge exactly what was going on. She was so gracious with her time and allowed us to ask questions. Mariah is devoted, compassionate, caring, extremely knowledgeable, and an angel to us.
