Mariah had a patient who was on hospice comfort care. Mariah had taken care of this patient for several days. I met with the patient's family on the night that the patient passed away. They could not stop talking about Mariah and how she was their angel over the past few days. They said that Mariah was so kind, caring, and considerate while their sister/wife was preparing to pass away. The family had many questions during their stay, needed a lot of reassurance and comfort regarding their loved one's condition, and Mariah was there for them every step of the way.
On the night that the patient passed away, Mariah was in the room with the family for over an hour once the patient passed and cried with the family, comforted them, gave them hugs, held their hand, and offered a lot of support. The family said that Mariah gave them a lot of peace knowing that their family member was in good hands and that Mariah cared so deeply for their family member. Mariah went above and beyond for this family and it truly showed in how comforted and at peace they felt when their family member passed away.
