Thanks to Marian and her collaboration with the MSW, they were able to arrange several family meetings, and in the end, everyone agreed to support the patient’s decision.
Compassionate, kind, and caring are some of the words that come to mind when I think about Marian. She helps provide care to patients in the Turnkey seriously ill at-home program, which focuses on relieving the symptoms and stress of serious illness. The goal is to improve the quality of life and provide support to patients and loved ones.
One of her patients commented in a patient satisfaction survey. He expressed that he was ready for hospice, but his family did not agree. Thanks to Marian and her collaboration with the MSW, they were able to arrange several family meetings, and in the end, everyone agreed to support the patient’s decision. He was admitted to VNA hospice, and his entire family was on board and very supportive! It took a lot of work and patience, but at the end of it, the patient had the love and support from his entire family as he transitioned to hospice. He was grateful and knew this would not have been possible without her dedication to help him achieve his goal of quality of life.
