Marian Morris-Ervin, RN, OSBN
Marian is the epitome of professionalism in nursing. Fortunately for her patients, she is also extremely compassionate. She will go toe-to-toe with anyone to get what is best for our patients. I know this, in part, because we have gone toe-to-toe over patients, and I have worked with her for over 20yrs.
This is a story about a patient. The patient's husband was dying, and she was not emotionally equipped to live without him. Marian contacted family and worked tirelessly for the patient and his wife to ensure that he wouldn't worry and that his wife would have resources. After the patient died, Marian maintained contact with the patient's wife. She visits, transports, cajoles, scolds, and is a friend to this woman who had no friends. She deeply feels her community connections and never met a stranger. It is not just one thing that she has done, as she has done so many. She is loved and served our community through nursing and advocacy. She is AMAZING!
