Following my daughter's birth, I was assigned to be under the care of Marian Ressel. Ms. Ressel went above and beyond in the way she cared for me during our five-day stay. Ms. Ressel made sure all of my questions were answered fully and that my pain was managed. She was a breath of fresh air compared to the other nurses. Ms. Ressel recognized that I was struggling with breastfeeding and helped me get set up quickly with the lactation consultants. Ms. Ressel continued to be an invaluable encourager as I continued to struggle. Ms. Ressel exemplified all of the qualities for which the DAISY Award stands. She went far above and beyond in caring for me. I can only hope that the next time I find myself at WBH that I have the opportunity to be in Ms. Ressel's care again!
