Her kindness, patience, and unwavering dedication gave me hope and strength during one of the most vulnerable times in my life.
When I was admitted to the Mother-Baby Unit after giving birth, I was fortunate to have Mariana as my nurse, her clinical skill and compassionate care truly made a profound difference in my recovery. Following my delivery, I experienced complications that left me with limited sensation and movement in my left leg, later diagnosed as femoral neuropathy. During those critical days, my nurse went above and beyond to ensure I felt supported and cared for, both physically and emotionally.

One specific moment stands out. I was struggling with the overwhelming mix of physical pain, immobility, and the emotional challenges of being a new mother unable to fully care for my baby. Mariana not only provided expert clinical care, like meticulously monitoring my recovery and collaborating with the medical team, but she also took the time to sit with me, listen to my fears, and reassure me. Mariana encouraged me to bond with my baby in ways I could manage, helping me position myself to hold and feed my baby comfortably, even in bed. Her compassionate touch was evident in the small but significant acts that went beyond her job description. Mariana gently massaged my legs to promote circulation and took extra time to explain my condition in terms I could understand, easing my anxiety. She brought me a warm blanket and adjusted the lighting in my room to create a calming environment when she noticed I was visibly distressed. Mariana even coordinated with other staff to ensure I had access to lactation consultants and physical therapy support.

Her kindness, patience, and unwavering dedication gave me hope and strength during one of the most vulnerable times in my life. She reminded me that healing was possible and that I was not alone in the process. Mariana's extraordinary care left a lasting impact on me, not just as a patient but as a person navigating a challenging postpartum recovery. She exemplified what it means to be both a skilled clinician and a compassionate caregiver.
