Marianna Axelson, BSN, RN

From the moment we arrived at West 12, Marianna treated my daughter "A" and me, like we'd known her for years. Caring and treating "A" extra special, are an understatement. In my daughter's own words, "She made me feel like I'm not in the hospital." "She's fun and interactive." Marianna had great conversations with both of us. She really made sure to include me in my daughter's care and keep me up to date. Most importantly, she was so encouraging to "A" to get better; by giving her recommendations on what to eat and drink. Also letting her know, she could have as many popsicles as she wanted. Marianna has touched our hearts in a way that we'll never forget. And although it was tough being at the hospital, when we look back at this time, it's having Marianna as our nurse that'll bring positive memories. My daughter and I believe she is a true DAISY Nurse.
