Marianna Badzio worked as a nurse in Poland for 21 years after graduating from medical school in 1983. She worked in various departments including ICU/PCU, Neurology, and Internal Medicine. In 2004, she and her family made the decision to move to the United States. Upon passing her Registered Nurse exam in 2008, she began working at Woodhull Medical Center in 2009 in the critical care department.
Ms. Badzio states, “I have thoroughly enjoyed my career as a nurse for the past 37 years. Over the course of my journey, I have encountered various challenges and opportunities that have kept me interested and motivated. Nursing is a highly demanding field, not only physically, but also mentally. However, being able to help those in need and their families is truly rewarding. I have found over the years that my work has become my purpose in life, and has greatly contributed to my feelings of happiness and fulfillment.”
