Marianne McTyre, RN

Marianne is a remarkably dedicated leader and advocate for both her frontline teams and her nursing leaders. She is extremely in tune with the sentiment of her team and the overall atmosphere and well-being of the entire department. She has forged strong physician partnerships resulting in tremendous respect from these colleagues. Marianne sets high standards and puts quality and safety at the forefront. Her ability to think out of the box and create effective strategies to achieve success in operations and performance is exceptional, her float model and overall perinatal staffing model are one example. 

She shows up early morning, midday, evenings, and nights to support her teams. Most recently she showed up at 2 am to support them during a very challenging night.

Patient experience is always a priority. During a recent unanticipated incident, Marianne personally visited multiple times throughout the day and spoke with the parents of the impacted baby. Marianne leads the way, creates a vision, and executes a strategic plan, currently working towards Baby Friendly. She is a true professional and selfless role model who takes pride in working at NSUH.
