May 2016 Honoree
marianne olson, PhD, RN
I have a wonderful career in Nursing. I earned my undergraduate degree in Nursing. My MS-degrees are in Education as well as Maternal Child Nursing (University of Minnesota). My PhD is also in Nursing from the University of Minnesota. I became fascinated with the interrelatedness between practice, theory, and research as an undergraduate student. Excellent mentors and role models who connected theory, evidence-based practice, informatics, and research to my daily work in clinical practice have surrounded me throughout my career. What a gift! In January 2014, I joined the online DNP Program faculty at Chamberlain College of Nursing. As a Visiting Professor, I have experience spending time with DNP students in NR700; NR701; NR704; NR706; and, NR708. On a personal note, I am an avid reader; I am the mother to 4 children; I love many outdoor activities including peaceful hours fishing year round in the backwaters of the Mississippi River in my home state of Minnesota.
Thank you, Marianne, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
