€" Marianne guided the client through the planning and implementation of eMAR at all three facilities. She lead weekly meetings serving as the subject matter expert in the eMAR application and nursing workflow and facilitated development of nursing workflow with hospital nursing leadership allowing nurses to seamlessly transition from written medication orders onto electronic medication orders in PowerChart. This was a completely new concept to the Baptist client and IS staff. It also served as a precursor to the implementation of CPOE, mimicking electronic medication orders on a smaller scale. Marianne is a key leader in the design of the medication orders for each department based upon their unit specific medication order needs. She provided leadership and oversight in the development of a test plan, test environment and testing of the medication orders transcription into eMAR.
Additionally, when the client, late in the eMAR Phase II project, added the requirement to implement iView in the NICU and Well-Baby nurseries at two of the facilities, Marianne was the prime contributor. Marianne successfully scheduled last minute design, build and testing sessions to successfully implement this vital component of the Phase II project. This required developing technical and nursing workflows in addition to developing the training materials and training. During the Go Live support, neonatal support was a high visibility component, determining the client’s perspective of a successful Go Live. The design and product developed met the neonatologist expectations and any issues or additional design changes were quickly analyzed, designed, developed and successfully implemented.
During the Phase II go live support, Marianne was instrumental in quickly resolving issues, both in eMAR and iView. Client satisfaction was high during the Go Live and confidence among the neonatal staff grew quickly, both with the applications and the IT support staff.
All this while being a key player in Baptist's ongoing Meaningful Use project with a large component being CPOE. Marianne will be a vital factor in the success of that project as well.
