Working with Maribel has been one of the best parts of my nursing journey so far. From the very beginning, she made me feel welcome and supported, and we quickly became close friends. Maribel is not only an amazing coworker but truly one of the most compassionate nurses I’ve ever met. She treats every patient like family, always going above and beyond to make sure they feel safe, heard, and cared for. There was one shift we worked together where we had a patient who was in a lot of pain and feeling really scared. I watched Maribel walk in with her calm voice and kind smile, and it was like the whole room changed. She took the time to listen, explain everything slowly, and comfort the patient in a way that was just so natural. She didn’t just treat the symptoms—she treated the whole person. It reminded me exactly why I wanted to become a nurse in the first place. Maribel is also the kind of nurse who lifts up everyone around her. No matter how busy or stressful things get, she always stays positive and focused. She’s quick to offer help and never hesitates to jump in when someone needs a hand. When we work together, our teamwork just flows, and I know I can always count on her. I’ve learned so much just by watching her work, and I genuinely admire the way she cares for her patients and supports her peers. Maribel brings heart to everything she does, and I can’t think of anyone more deserving of the DAISY Award.
