Maricela Casas, RN

Maricela was caring for this hospice patient on our unit. There was a delay prior to her shift in getting the appropriate medication. Maricela continued to pursue the optimum care for her patient, got the patient on the right pain medication, and supported the family. As the patient’s condition changed, she notified the family and assured them she would stay with the patient until they came. While waiting, she made sure the room was cleaned, and the patient was clean and presentable for the family. She also provided them with emotional support.
