Maricela Cortes, BSN, RN

We have had Maricela Cortes several times in the ICU over the past year. She goes above and beyond for my son every time she cares for him. We always look forward to seeing her smiling face when we are admitted to our room. I have never in my life met a nurse who pours so much heart and soul into their job as Maricela. She advocates for her patients as if they are her children. She typed out her treatment schedule to make it easier to follow step by step how to infuse my son's difficult treatment and passes them along to other nurses who have us on other treatment days when she is not on the schedule. She listens to me as I advocate for my child, explains everything, and is always prepared and on the ball. This woman completely exceeds what it takes to be a Daisy Award Honoree and if I could duplicate her into 100 nurses I would in a heartbeat!
