Maricela was absolutely amazing! She is exactly how all nurses should be. I knew this is a teaching hospital and it showed very much through Maricela. She was patient with the students and explained everything to the students as well as to my son. She walked the student nurses through the IV process and allowed them to do, rather than watch. Teaching by hands on approach, and even though she struggled, Maricela was patient and did not make the student feel bad. All while talking to my son as well.
Maricela remained calm and attentive to my son and myself. She showed compassion, patience and made my son feel safe, not like he was a burden with his many, and I mean very many questions, before the IV tube and enema. She made sure every need and want was taken care of. We were blessed to have her as our nurse most of our stay. She is a very sweet, genuine, friendly and caring nurse. Thank you for taking care of my son!
