Marie Gay has done it all at Children's for almost 28 years. We worked side by side in the Trauma room at Egleston in the late 1980s. Marie was a leader in the PICU. Later moved on to become the Educator in the ED after obtaining her DNP. Eventually she moved to Clinical Staff Development to lead that team. I cannot even attempt to list the programs she has developed over the years at Children's. Programs that have benefited our nurses! Children's is a much better place because of her. She is the quiet leader, the silent force. She is a true role model for our Nursing Profession. Today she is the Manager of Clinical Operations for the Medicine Line. She is the "CHILDREN's Nurse." She has helped all our nurses grow….learn….care….and lead. She has significantly made a difference in nursing at Children's. Marie Gay truly cares about the people she works with and we care about her!
