I brought my husband to St. Luke's ER with severe SOB. He was taken to a treatment room and was to be admitted. When he was transferred to his room, there were 5 nurses waiting for him. I quickly stated my concern that he had been very lethargic for the last 4 hours. Marie immediately stated he may have a high level of CO2 and proceeded to draw blood to be tested STAT. The results came back quickly and verified her diagnosis. Orders were obtained and he was transported to ICU for more appropriate treatment. I will always be grateful to Marie for her quick reaction that saved my husband from a less than desirable result. Thank you, Marie!
