Marie O’Boye, RN, Cardiac Neuro Intensive Care Unit, was recognized for “the incredible job of compassionate care and poise” she displayed during a soccer match at Frontier Field in Naperville.

When a referee collapsed, she orchestrated his care; summoned help, shielded the patient, oversaw resuscitation efforts, guided the ambulance, and provided support to the referee’s son. Unfortunately, the patient later passed away. However, as the nomination letter stated, “…thank God that Marie was there that day because she was the only chance the referee had.”
