Marie possesses a wonderful sense of humor, as well as being humble. She is nurturing and helpful to patients and coworkers. Marie is always truly genuine.

Marie is a team player, personable and peaceful. She is intelligent, a wonderful mentor, a role model for others, and has great communication skills.

Recently a patient expressed to Marie how dull the ceilings were in the recovery room. She was chatting with Marie about how nice it would be to have something pretty to look at, like a poster, while lying on a stretcher. Marie, the kind and considerate nurse she is went right to work. Within the week she had researched panels that could be placed in the ceiling light fixtures. The panels she chose have different scenes. For example, the blue sky with clouds floating, trees with flowering buds, hot air balloons, kites flying in the air, underwater activity with dolphins, and for our pediatric patients, Nemo. We now get comments and compliments daily about these panels.

Marie's actions show her genuine concern for her patients. She was able to provide comfort and promote relaxation for all of her patients. She is truly deserving of the DAISY Award.
