The professional and compassionate care shown to me by Mariel was above and beyond all my expectations. She made me feel like I was part of her own family. In today's world, healthcare workers are under so much pressure, but Mariel never showed it to me. I watched her interact with all the other staff on the unit and saw how her vibrant personality seemed to flow into the other caregivers. I was inspired to see this. Her personality and the love she has for her job are what make her an Extraordinary Nurse! Nurses do not get enough credit for their hard work and sometimes get abuse from their patients.
