While I was waiting for my nurse to help me and give me something for pain, Nurse Mariela came in and asked me if I needed anything. Mariela was not my assigned nurse but she helped and replaced my bad IV, washed me up and gave me a clean gown. Mariela got my medicines, changed me and cleaned the room a bit. Mariela went above and beyond to make my day and make a meaningful difference in my stay, and a meaningful difference in the relationship between patients and nurses. Mariela is a wonderful person who cares about the patients and tries to make sure that the patient experience is a happy and healthy one with the compassion and care that she provides to the patient.

When I first arrived upstairs from spending time in the ER, Nurse Mariela welcomed me with warm, mother like arms. Mariela made sure I got in bed, comfortable and relaxed. She introduced me to my CNA who ordered a sandwich for me. Mariela then came back to check on my pain status and administered a painkiller and made sure I was comfortable with no pain and relaxed. She then stayed and conversed with me until I went to sleep. Mariela kept checking on me throughout the night. After sitting in the ER for hours, she made sure my stay was outstanding and went above and beyond. Mariela is a nurse you would want to take care of you when you're down and out. Mariela was leaving shift and introduced me to my daytime RN.
