This nurse is an example of compassion and kindness. 

This was my second time delivering at Stormont Vail. When I entered the room, I started having flashbacks from my first labor, which lasted 72 hours in total. I saw this nurse coming in, and she immediately noticed that I was nervous. She gave me a kind smile, started talking with me and my husband, and told us that this time everything was going to be better and different. She was respectful of our choices and made sure to listen to our concerns.

She was patient, gentle, polite, and funny. She speaks Spanish, my maternal language, so that was great because it was easier for me to ask her questions and talk to her in general.

During the whole stay, she was constantly making sure that we were feeling well. The fact that she was standing right next to me, when I was having contractions, when they gave me the epidural and the final pushes to deliver my baby, meant a lot to me. 

She stayed positive, joyful, and thoughtful during the whole process. The simple gesture of a smile can change the perspective of a whole situation.

My husband and I were very lucky to have her there for us. I would love to see her accomplish anything that she wants in her life. She deserves more than what she has because she has given more than what she was asked to give. I’m sure Stormont Vail is grateful to have someone like her. God bless her and her family!
