Marilee showed extreme compassion for a patient at the end of that patient's life.
I saw Marilee come in a few hours after the end of her shift holding a bundle of some type of plant. I asked Marilee why she had come back in and she explained that she and her patient had been discussing the plant called Russian Sage and how it was around only for a short period of time and how it had the most heavenly scent. The patient told Marilee that she had never gotten the chance to smell it.
Marilee found some Russian Sage and, knowing that the patient was at the end of her life, rushed it over so she could have the opportunity to smell the heavenly scent before she passed.
It seems like a small thing but seeing such a compassionate act really touched me.
