Mariles came on duty during the morning of day 3 of my hospital stay for meningitis. I was in isolation and given little or no information about my illness and what to expect. I didn't even know how long I might have to be in the hospital. Mariles took the time to explain what they were doing and why, what the doctors were testing for and what would determine when I could go home. She was informative, patient, extremely knowledgeable and kind no matter how many times I called her. She made me and my husband feel so much better and relieved some of our anxiety. She is probably the best nurse I have ever met. I was fortunate enough to have her even just the few days. Her thoroughness and attention to the smallest detail was apparent from her first steps into my room. She is an excellent role model for student nurses.
