Marilou Liangco, RN

Marilou Liangco is a dedicated hospice nurse. Marilou is an absolute team-oriented worker. She offers to help other staff when needed. She is a preceptor in the branch and orients new nurses as they come in. She understands her role as a preceptor supports the whole team and is willing to work hard to educate new staff. Marilou is prepared to go back to patient homes and see them late in the day if that is what the patient needs to make them comfortable. Marilou does not shy away from difficult cases. She never even mentions the case or complains, just cares for them as needed. Marilou had a particularly intense case with unique psycho-social needs of the care giver. This was not an easy visit. Marilou went to the home often, providing support and care. The caregiver requested that only Marilou and one other nurse be allowed to visit. After the patient passed, Marilou went to sit with the caregiver offering support and compassion. The caregiver wrote later on that Marilou was a blessing to himself and the patient.
