My husband and I came to the ER and a week and a half later I left a widow. Needless to say, I'm having a difficult time grasping all that has happened to my family in such a short period of time. What I'm not having a problem with is the treatment but even more, the manner in which we were all treated, not just my husband. Between the doctor and Nurse Marilyn, his final day was made - not nicer because the situation was dire - but gentler of sorts. We knew with those two in charge of how and when and that they would be right by our side if need be (up in Hospice). We were whirling but felt he was safe in their hands. Marilyn told us what we were going to see, who to go to for help up there, even rode up in the elevator talking to him. It was as if my husband was her only patient.
