When I first met Marilyn, she told me what she wanted from me and what she was going to provide me. My mother has been a nurse for 34 years and I can tell Marilyn is much more than a nurse. The one thing of all is she cares for me as a person, not a patient. She makes me laugh and makes me think, and get up and get exercise.

I have been very critical of this hospital due to my illness. Marilyn has shown me that people really do care and I can see it on her face. She has told me things that have stung a little but she was right. If I had a business I would most definitely try to take her as an employee. But she said to me she loves her job and this hospital. I just hope she gets some credit for being the person, the nurse that she is. To the nurses she is training, you can't buy that wisdom and caring.
