Marina Alexander, MSN, CNS, FNP

Marina Alexander has always displayed an excellent work ethic, being a patient advocate committed to implementing and creating innovative ideas to improve the patient experience and patient satisfaction. She has done a remarkable job with effective care coordination and safe discharge planning of our inpatients in the Medical Units. She is the only healthcare provider noted for carrying a small fold-up stool with her as she makes bedside visits to each of her patients. Ms. Marina not only 'walks the walk but she talks the talk'.  She firmly believes in maintaining good bedside manners when interacting with her patients. She sits at eye level with each of her patients during her screening interviews to ensure a good rapport and patient engagement are established. Ms. Marina is steadfast in her belief that each patient is to be treated with the utmost dignity and respect. Ms. Marina goes above and beyond her call of duty in instances where problems with communication impede the smooth process of meds to bed for her patients. Ms. Marina has taken the initiative to contact her patients immediately and deliver their discharge medications to them at their homes. We coined her as the "Holistic Nurse Detective" devoted to research resources to assist her patients with their care needs as well as educate them on how to become more engaged with improving their health and adapting behaviors to live healthier lifestyles.
