May 2018 Honoree
marina nepomuceno, BSN, RN
I remember the day when I had a check-up in the cardiology clinic. I walked through the corridor to see the name of cardiology doctors and feeling somewhat anxious about my appointment. I saw a nurse and she greeted me immediately, politely and with a smile, asking me "Sir, can I help you?" I informed her that I have high blood pressure. She checked my blood pressure and re-assured me. She was so compassionate and caring to me I felt immediately at ease. She advised me on my diet and medicine. She was so helpful and kind, I appreciate the work that she is doing. All nurses should learn from Marina how to communicate with compassion to patients and families.
Thank you, Marina, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
