I was relief Clinical Manager for the 7P shift on 8/21. In the early morning hours of 8/22, there was a Code Blue on the floor. The wife was present during this event. The patient was transferred to ICU and later passed away. This patient had been walking and talking during the day, so needless to say, the wife was shocked at her husband's sudden passing. Marion stayed by the wife's side as they extubated her husband and terminally weaned him. Then after the wife had said her final goodbye, Marion stayed with her in the Pod I nurses' station for an hour and a half, calling multiple funeral homes to find out cremation prices. Marion saved the wife several hundred dollars but more importantly, she really helped out a grief stricken family member in a time of need. I was so impressed with Marion. The hospital was busy that night. Yet she found this to be the priority and it was. I know it meant a lot to the wife and it meant a lot to me.
Great job...you are one awesome nurse Marion!
