Marisa Gaudiel, RN

A patient on 5N was preparing for unexpected open-heart surgery. He wanted to get married prior to surgery. Marisa went above and beyond to help the patient and his future wife to make his wedding happen at ORMC. The wife had the court document, and they were planning to get married before all this had happened. When Marisa found this out, she contacted everyone she knew to make it happen. Marisa called the chaplain, got a fresh cake, and asked for volunteer services for party supplies. She notified management as well and had everything planned for the wedding to take place the next day. The patient and his wife were ecstatic. She showed passion for the patient's care, empathy for their love, and teamwork by coordinating care from multidisciplinary teams. We admire her attributes to provide these services.
