Marisa was recognized for always being an advocate for her patients with a calm and caring approach. Her prompt actions guided by natural instinct consistently results in outstanding care and demonstrates her commitment to Saint Agnes.
Marisa has the ability to bring a team together. After receiving a patient from the emergency room for chest pain, shortness of breath and some nausea, the patient began to experience bradycardia with varying rates and decreasing blood pressure.
If it wasn't for Marisa's promptness and decision to involve the crisis nurse and unit coordinator, it may have delayed the hand of a physician after a 12 lead EKG did not reveal an immediate cause of concern.
"Marisa and the crisis RN maintained a calm and caring approach, reassuring the patient that they would follow up on her presentation of symptoms with the physician promptly. The patient received two stents to a coronary artery. I believe Marisa's prompt actions made a major impact on the positive outcome for this patient."
