Marisa Rangel, RN

For years now I have noticed Nurse Marisa consistently going above and beyond her responsibilities as a staff nurse. She always provides exceptional care to her patients. She is also a great team member, always helpful, and always available. One night I was delivering a specimen to the lab. While there, my patient suddenly had a “mucus plug” causing him to be in severe respiratory distress. Marisa responded to the call for help. She suctioned and did some chest compression while assuring and comforting my patient. That’s how I “caught her in the act”. My patient’s oxygenation improved. Marisa had saved my patient’s life that night. My patient and I are truly thankful for her swift, skillful, compassionate, and excellent care.
