Marisel Salagubang, BSN, RNC-NIC
Marisel consistently goes above and beyond, no matter what assignment she is given. Her dedication to her patients, her team, and our unit exemplifies nursing excellence.
One day in particular stands out. Marisel was serving as the resource nurse and was paired with a newer nurse who had been given a very challenging assignment. Without hesitation, Marisel spent hours supporting, guiding, and encouraging her. She did this patiently and graciously, ensuring both the nurse and the patients felt supported and safe. Even while managing the responsibilities of being a resource, she remained calm and steady.
That same shift, we had a premature admission that required immediate attention and teamwork. Marisel stepped in seamlessly, helping coordinate care and providing hands-on support. She never complained once or appeared overwhelmed. Instead, she brought a sense of reassurance and competence that helped everyone around her.
Marisel is the kind of nurse who quietly fills in the gaps wherever needed. She volunteers for overtime when our unit needs overage and does so with a positive attitude. She approaches every shift with professionalism, kindness, and a willingness to serve.
Patients truly appreciate her compassionate care. She takes the time to explain, comfort, and connect, making families feel heard and supported during stressful moments. Her presence brings calm to difficult situations.
