I have been a nurse myself for nearly 30 years and have had the opportunity to work alongside nurses in a variety of capacities, as well as be on the receiving end of care a handful of times. Marisela is, hands down, the best nurse I have ever had or could have asked for after my surgery. She was attentive and provided appropriate encouragement and education every step of the way. I felt as though I was her only patient and never would have known any different. Her smile and calm demeanor set me at ease from the moment I got to my room, and she anticipated my needs before I ever asked. She was so knowledgeable and compassionate, and it is clear she loves her job. As healthcare workers, we often take the little things for granted, but I am reminded of the importance of kindness and compassion in our daily work and the impact it makes on our patients. I am so grateful for Marisela’s expert care and compassion and proud she is one of UnityPoint’s own.
