Marissa has poured her heart into her patients and co-workers over the last 14 years at Saint Joseph East. She continuously ensures every patient is treated like her own family. Working on night shift with limited staff and resources, it is often Marissa's judgment which can predict a patient's outcome. I would not hesitate to say that Marissa's expert clinical skills and knowledge base have saved many lives. She never hesitates to be a patient advocate and demonstrates compassion while administering top notch care.
Above and beyond patient care, Marissa is a wonderful resource for the entire hospital during the night shift. Instead of having the attitude, "That's not my job", Marissa often seeks opportunity from various departments asking, "How can I help?". No job is too big or too small for her. Although often performing behind the scenes support, she never seeks praise or attention. Marissa's efforts are worthy of this DAISY Award.
