I have not had to be admitted to the hospital since I was very young. I am a nurse but it is a completely different experience in the hospital as a patient. I was not feeling well and honestly, was nervous. Marissa was the perfect nurse for me. She always greeted me with a smile and made sure to actually spend time with me. She talked to me about my care, but also my personal interests and experiences. Marissa treated my family as if they were her own. I know that my family was extremely comforted knowing they were leaving me in her care because all around she is excellent! In addition to the care and education provided, she went above and beyond for me. I was going to have to miss Aladdin the musical and I was so upset because the tickets were a gift and very expensive. Marissa also had tickets for the show another night and offered to switch with me so that I could still go. This is the type of care that shows that Marissa truly cares about her patients. The world needs more nurses like her and I hope that someday I can be half the nurse she was to me. Thank you.
