Marissa Peticca is an excellent nurse on our team. She is always willing to help with patient care, even when it is not her assigned patient. For example, I was running behind on my morning medication passes and she willingly offered to help another one of my patients. I know when we work together that we will always check in on each other to support all the patients on the unit. She has excellent teamwork and truly cares for all the patients on the unit. She provides excellent patient care and advocates for her patients as well. The last shift I worked with her she was dealing with a difficult situation with a family member. The family member wasn't very nice to her either. She handled that situation positively and professionally. She contacted the rounding provider many times to advocate for that patient and their family. She does all of this with a positive and caring attitude. She is a great role model for our newer nurses. In addition, I witnessed Marissa go above and beyond for one of her patients that shift. That particular patient had been admitted for quite some time. The patient really wanted food from outside of the hospital. Marissa went above and beyond by buying that patient breakfast. She is very valuable to our 4-north team.
