She is constantly brainstorming ideas with her coworkers on how we can improve things around the hospital that will benefit the kids. She is ALWAYS thinking about the kids and putting their needs first.
Marissa is one of the best nurses I have had the pleasure to work with. When I started at RJ, she taught me all about how to provide nursing care the MRJ Way. She is someone I look up to as a nurse and aspire to provide care as amazing as she does. She is always asking people if they need help with anything, even if she is busy herself. She also always has her kids up and playing to the fullest capacity each child allows. She is taking kids outside or on walks any chance she gets. She is constantly brainstorming ideas with her coworkers on how we can improve things around the hospital that will benefit the kids. She is ALWAYS thinking about the kids and putting their needs first. Marissa is an excellent coworker, nurse, and friend. Ranken Jordan is so lucky to have her, and she is a true DAISY Nurse.

When I started working alongside Marissa at Ranken, it was clear that she would be a role model to turn to when I need assistance or nursing judgement from a peer. She is knowledgeable in her practice, conscientious about policies and proper procedures, and exceeds the bar with Ranken Jordan's mission in every way possible. She embodies the many principles that make up an incredible nurse and has shown herself to be a leader for all people at RJ, including new staff members and seasoned nurses alike. She takes being a "team player" to new heights by NEVER hesitating to help people despite the heavy workload she may already have. She holds herself to high standards, and it is clear in the loving care she provides to people as well as her patients each day. When I show up to work and see her on the daily assignment, I KNOW she will be there to have my back if/when I need guidance or support. My favorite memories of working with her always involve getting our entire room(s) outside to enjoy the weather, because this is such a huge feat on west that requires strategic planning, teamwork, and positive attitudes to make it work. When new people come to Ranken, I always recommend Marissa as someone to turn to for help if they ever need it, because she is a pediatric nurse who truly, and always, embodies what it means to be a nurse at Ranken Jordan.

Marissa is the type of coworker everyone dreams of having. She not only goes above and beyond for her patients but for her coworkers as well. Marissa truly embodies the MRJ way and Ranken is so lucky to have her. On a daily basis, Marissa is finding creative ways to get her patients up and out to play. She is so patient with her patients, caregivers, and new hires that she trains. Also, when it comes to her coworkers, she is always the first to jump in and offer support and a helping hand. On multiple occasions when an admit is coming or someone needs to pick up an extra patient, Marissa has volunteered to take it if it means helping a fellow coworker. Marissa doesn’t even think twice when it comes to helping out her coworkers. She is a great team player and if you asked anyone who has worked with her, they would all agree.
