Maristela holds us all to the highest standards and will never allow us to settle for less.
Maristela encourages, inspires, and motivates Radiology nurses to innovate and create change, toward a shared vision of molding the future of COH Radiology Nursing and improving our department practice standards to exceed patient needs. With her leadership, this past year, our nurses have achieved the following: advance education and certification goals, established a Unit Based Council, established evidence-based practice of aroma therapy project, and created new hire education training material.
Our department is unique, as it is comprised of seven different modalities, thereby requiring a variety of skills, of which our nursing team, of 19 nurses, are trained and (weekly) rotate throughout all specialties. Maristela holds us all to the highest standards and will never allow us to settle for less. As a direct result, our department's patient satisfaction, nurse performance, and satisfaction, consistently reflect high ranking.

Maristela has led Radiology Nurses by assisting and promoting professional growth. Stela works as a liaison by coordinating nursing and ancillary care. She improved patient satisfaction and department productivity by implementing Creatinine POC. She utilized EBP by arranging Aroma therapy for patients suffering from anxiety and nausea. Stela worked to create a Radiology Unit Based Counsel to assist our department's specific needs. This nurse manager even supports us by donning her lead apron for procedures while we are short-staffed!
