At a time when we find ourselves in a worldwide pandemic with uncertainty, fear, chaos, and challenges Marivic truly stepped forward as a nurse to be recognized. Marivic is our first DAISY Honoree and is very deserving. Marivic actually received 2 nominations and is highly respected by her peers. Her willingness to go above and beyond is remarkable.
When our organization needed to institute staff and physician education with respect to PPE, Marivic unselfishly gave up her time and became our lead super-user for our entire hospital. She spent her hours and days teaching, training, and role modeling the correct usage of PPE. Her ability to teach safe donning and doffing practices kept us and our patients safe.
In these unprecedented times, I feel her commitment, dedication, and compassion should be recognized as she had to "expose" herself to all these wonderful employees to train them. She has trained personnel from all different departments. I just wanted to honor her on-going education and training of clinicians to have the information, and tools to protect themselves.
