Mariya recently was my nurse for two shifts when I stayed at St. Francis. She was awesome and so appreciated. I learned that I had cervical cancer and Mariya was so kind and caring to me during this time. I was still in shock and shed some tears and she was a great comfort. I was experiencing lots of pain and Mariya kept trying to find ways to stop it. From pillow placement, ice or heat packs, different medicines when needed, etc. When you are in pain this is super important to patients.

My family was also there a lot and they all thought she was great. Mariya tried to comfort them any way she could and go out of the room when we needed privacy. I also felt like the doctors trusted and respected her when they were in the room together. Mariya has a gentle sweetness to her personality, yet is a hard worker at the same time. She was a perfect nurse to me. She made me feel like I was her only patient, yet we know I wasn’t! St. Francis is lucky to have her and she represents your hospital very well.
