Mark Blazek, RN

Mark was coming to the ICU to ask about a potential patient admission when he overheard a patient becoming agitated, refusing treatment, and the RN yelling for security. Mark went into the patient's room and assisted the RN, charge nurse, and PCT with calming the patient down and getting what he needed. He stayed with the patient as he went to the restroom, assisted the patient back to bed, and reapplied his monitors. He assured that the patient was safe and the other staff as well. We appreciate his help and for stepping up even when the problem was not on his unit, and he did not have to. He truly helped in a high-risk situation that could have gotten worse without his intervention.
