Mark received notification of a potential safety threat to one of the hospital RNs. Mark took it upon himself to go up to the department, assess the situation and found that the threat was viable. At that point, Mark leapt into action, contacting the Administrator on Call, Public Safety, and calling for a Facility Lockdown. Once Modesto PD and our teams were able to determine that the hospital and its staff were safe, we cleared the lockdown. Mark took it upon himself to escort out staff from that unit as they were very shaken and upset by the events. The staff was very appreciative of his consideration and compassion. Mark demonstrated professionalism, collaboration, and good communication all while staying calm. Thank you Mark for being there that evening and managing the situation in a way that brought a feeling of safety to those around you.
