December 2016 Honoree
mark guerrero, RN
Mark Guerrero made a big impression on the mother of one of his patients for his kindness and willingness to go the extra mile with her child who came into the ED with a high fever.
Mark was recognized by the patient's mother for the comfort he provided during this very stressful time in her life - as it would be with any mother concerned about the well-being of their child. He truly embodied the DAISY spirit by showing deep compassion for his young patient and his mother, who is also a staff member at Dameron Hospital. In her words:
"Mark took really great care of my baby when I was a panicking mother. My one-year-old son had such a high fever and it hadn't broken for 2 to 3 days. I came to the Emergency Department, and Mark was able to break his fever. I was so thankful."
