Mark Peckham was exceptional from the start. He made my husband, D, feel at ease. When he cared for D, he seemed like it hurt him more than D. Words he said to D made him feel good about himself and it showed Mark respected him as a person, even if Mark had to empty his bag hanging from his side. Even the aides that worked with Mark looked up to him. He would explain or assist them. They seemed to be happy working alongside Mark. His friendliness reflected on his aide and made the room so much more pleasant. Even when we were told D wasn't going to make it through the night and Mark came in to the room to get him ready for critical care, Mark had that look of concern and sorrow for me because D was supposed to go the next day to the nursing home for a short stay, not heaven.
I am sorry for not nominating Mark before this. D died in 2017. For the past year, Mark has been on my mind to do this. He is in my heart and prayers for all the good care and friendship he showed to D and myself. Mark's sons and wife can be very proud of him as well as the hospital should. Sorry, Mark, for not doing this sooner, and I know you understand. God Bless You.
Mark has made such an impression of his loving care that I will never forget him. He was the greatest.
